Wm. Patterson "Pat" Cashill is a sole practitioner of law in Reno, Nevada, who practices primarily in the fields of complex business litigation, unfair competition, insurance bad faith litigation and personal injury and appears in all state and federal district courts in Nevada, including Las Vegas Reno, Carson City, Las Vegas, and all out lying counties. Mr. Cashill received his A.B. from the University of Notre Dame in 1966 and his J.D. from the University of Colorado in 1969. Mr. Cashill was an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Nevada based in Las Vegas, trying cases and handling the Government's business in Las Vegas, Reno, and throughout the State and District of Nevada from 1970 to 1971, was appointed as a Special Attorney with the Organized Crime and Racketeering Section of the United States Department of Justice, was assigned to the St. Louis (MO) Strike Force, where he served from 1971 to 1973, and prosecuted cases in the Eastern District of Missouri and the Southern District of Illinois. Mr. Cashill was the first Nevadan appointed to serve as a special attorney in the Organized Crime and Racketeering section of the United States Department of Justice. Mr. Cashill has been admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in the State of Nevada, the Eastern District of Missouri, the Northern and Eastern Districts of California, the Court of Appeals for the Eighth and Ninth Circuits, and the United States Supreme Court.

The Cashill Law Firm was begun by Pat Cashill's father, William John Cashill (1914-1960), B.A. University of Nevada (1937), LL.B Harvard University (1940), who was elected to and served as the Speaker of the Nevada State Assembly during the 1941 session of the Nevada Legislature. William J.Cashill founded the firm upon his return from service in the United States Navy during W.W. II. The senior Mr. Cashill specialized in advising and forming business entities, representing and counseling clients before state and federal courts in Nevada, appearing before both the Nevada Legislature and the United States Congress, and representing clients before both state and federal governmental agencies. William J. Cashill also served as a Special Attorney for Water Rights on behalf of the United States Department of Justice in water rights litigation in Nevada.

Mr. Cashill is a member of the Bars of the states of Nevada, Colorado and California; the Nevada Justice Association; the American Association for Justice; the American Bar Association; and the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Mr. Cashill was the 1986-87 President of the Nevada Trial Lawyer Association (now the Nevada Justice Association), directed the Association's lobbying activities during the 1987 session of the Nevada State Legislature, and serves on the Board of Governors of the Nevada Justice Association and its PAC, Citizens For Justice. Mr. Cashill continues to act as a lobbyist in the Nevada Legislature. Mr. Cashill previously served on the Board of Governors of the American Association for Justice.

Mr. Cashill is rated AV (the highest ranking) by Martindale-Hubbell, which evaluates and ranks lawyers throughout the United States, and is certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy as having "special competence" in the field of civil trial advocacy. The Cashill Law Firm has also been honored and recognized on one of America's Preeminent Law Firms by Martindale-Hubbell.

Mr. Cashill serves as a Nevada Supreme Court Settlement Conference Judge in complex civil cases, as a mediator in the Nevada Supreme Court's Foreclosure Mediation Program (FMP), as a private mediator/arbitrator, and was a member of a Nevada Special Committee to analyze the differences between the Nevada Rules of Civil Procedure and the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and to recommend amendments to bring the two into conformity with one another. Mr. Cashill is also a mediator/arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), which adjudicates disputes between Securities Broker/Dealers and their clients and between Brokers/dealers themselves.

Following his service with the United Stated States Department of Justice, Wm. Patterson Cashill was a member of the panel of lawyers assigned by Unites States District Judges to defend persons charged with federal crimes in the District of Nevada and was involved in an active civil litigation practice as well. As a civil trial litigator, Mr. Cashill has concentrated his practice on the areas of complex business litigation, unfair competition, insurance bad faith, and personal injury. Mr. Cashill has represented a wide variety of clients, from corporations the stock of which is traded on the New York Stock Exchange to ordinary persons prosecuting and defending cases involving the establishment, protection, and vindication of individual and property rights.

Mr. Cashill is a Mountaineer (Boundary Peak in Nevada; Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania; Mt.Elbruz in Russia, among others); a diver (the Truk Lagoon in Micronesia in the Western Pacific; the Great Barrier Reef off Australia; the Cayman Trench Walls off the Cayman Islands; Superman's flight off St. Lucia; the lava tubes amid the reef fish, eels, and barracuda off the Kohala Coast on the Big Island; the Galapagos Islands off Ecuador; among the sand dabs and seals of Monterey Bay; in the waters of the Raja Ampat Islands off Western Papua in Indonesia); and an adventurer (safaris in Kenya and Tanzania; travel and exploration in Egypt and the Eastern Mediterranean; trekking in Switzerland and throughout Europe; living on the Cotê Azur; trekking the El Camino Santiago in Spain, the 11th century pilgrims' route from Roncesvalles to Santiago de Compostela; traveling Australia from Sydney on the Pacific Ocean to Perth on the Indian Ocean and from Adelaide to Lizard Island); exploring Nevada's Black Rock Desert; fly fishing from the Truckee and East and West Walker Rivers, and Pyramid Lake in Nevada; to the Trinity, East and West Walker, and Sacramento Rivers in Northern California; to the Missouri and Big Hole Rivers in Montana; to various river systems in Alaska's bush country, to the Big Island, and to Belize). Mr. Cashill is an avid skier, swimmer, former marathon runner, former rugby player (inside and outside three-quarter back) for the University of Colorado RFC and for the St. Louis Bombers RFC), mountaineer, fly fisherman and hunter; is a lifetime member of the Northern Nevada Handball Association; and is knowledgeable in the history and cultures of Nevada.
